our beliefs

Our statement of faith is a declaration of foundational Christian truths and serve as spiritual guidelines that shape and govern our core beliefs and values as a church and does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The holy scriptures, as inspired and infallible Word of God, is the final source, highest authority and blueprint reference for all doctrine. Our beliefs are not meant to exclude those who do not necessarily affirm them. We remain approachable and open to discuss doctrinal subjects on all fronts in the true Christian spirit of humility and brotherly love.

We believe and preach the Gospel, the “good news” of God’s holy love, His redemptive plan for all mankind and saving power as revealed and accomplished though the suffering, death, burial and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ, according to the holy scriptures. We believe the Gospel in its entirety, answers the fundamental questions surrounding the universe, the origin, purpose and eternal destination of man.

We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit in effectuating salvation and imparting graces needed for a victorious life in Christ. We acknowledge the baptism of the Holy Spirit as indispensable for a spirit-filled, spirit-led walk with the LORD. We affirm the supernatural “gifts” of the Holy Spirit bestowed upon the body of Christ from the apostolic age until now for equipping, empowering and edifying the body of Christ for diverse internal and external ministry work

We believe there is one God who exists and is revealed in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit— who love and glorify one another. They are fundamentally co-equal in divine essence, attributes and nature but distinct in order and function. We believe that God through the Son and Holy Spirit created the visible and invisible universe in his infinite wisdom and eternal might.

We believe in the worship of all three distinct persons of the Godhead collectively and individually. The Father is the chief architect of our salvation. In His boundless mercy and love, He planned and initiated our redemption, which was accomplished by, in and through the Son and gave the Holy Spirit for our rebirth, adoption as children of God and to appropriate the glorious, infinite, unsearchable, inestimable riches, benefits and blessings of salvation to us.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the exact visible complete manifestation of the invisible eternal God and who is fully God and fully man. Jesus came purposefully to save human souls by washing away sin, destroy all the works of darkness and to reconcile Man to God and deliver mankind from the bondage of fear of death and ignorance of the afterlife. In absolute surrender and obedience to the father He humbled Himself and willingly offered Himself as the perfect substitute sacrifice to atone for our sins through the shameful death on the cross, so that by receiving the forgiveness of sins and the gift of righteousness by faith in His accomplishment, we might be reconciled to God.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and Son.We believe in the person, power, ministry and ministration of the Holy Spirit. He represents the person and ministry of Jesus Christ on earth today. He birthed the Church at Pentecost in power, baptized believers into the Body of Christ and bestowed gifts on the church. He is actively involved in convicting sinners of sin leading to repentance and salvation. He makes the presence of the eternal Godhead real to us in fellowship, prayer and ministry. The Holy Spirit preserves the believer until the day Christ returns.

We believe in the Holy Scriptures as divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and is without error. It was written by holy men of old under the supernatural influence and guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It captures the manifold nature of God in his dealings with men in different dispensations of time. It is the only infallible source of truth, the basis of sound doctrine and the final authority in all matters of Christian beliefs and living.

We believe that justification is by grace through faith in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ when he offered himself as the sacrifice for sin on Calvary. (Romans 3:21 – 24). The soul that sins shall surely die. This death is a spiritual death first and a natural death second. We believe a man is saved by accepting and trusting in the substitutionary sacrifice of the body and blood of Jesus. By believing in one’s heart and confessing through one’s own mouth, one is saved and becomes born again.

We believe that those who are called by the name of Jesus Christ should depart from iniquity. Salvation from the penalty of sin is a process that begins with the spirit man and through the sanctifying and renewing work of the Holy Spirit in the mind and body we become transformed in the likeness of the character of Christ. (2 Timothy 2:19). We also believe that without holiness no one shall see the LORD

We believe that all of God’s people are to be buried with our Lord Jesus Christ in the waters of baptism, subsequent to conversion. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:4). Baptism is a command. Everyone who confesses Christ should be baptized. Baptism comes from the word “baptize” which means to immerse. In Baptism our old way of life, values and mind-set are buried in the likeness of death and we are reborn as children of God in Christ.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an endowment of power, subsequent to conversion, given by God to enable and equip believers for personal spiritual growth into maturity and ministry work. We teach, train, develop and promote the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit in the church for efficient use in the work of ministering and nurturing the body of Christ.  (Acts 8:14-17, Acts 19:1-2, 1 Corinthians 12:4-7)

We believe that the calling of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher are still functional within the Body of Christ until the Lord’s return. Furthermore, these ministries are given to inform, train and equip the saints for the work of the ministry, so that the Body of Christ will be edified, nurtured, grow and mature into the full manifestation of sonship in Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

We believe in the priesthood of the believer. That is to say, all people born of God have equal status before, and direct access to, the Lord God Almighty. (1 Peter 2:5)

You can have relationship with God without having a human mediator. Jesus as priest is our mediator to God. We have a responsibility as priests to minister to those who don’t have a relationship with the Lord and to fellow believers.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all who are born of God. We confess even those with whom we disagree, those who do not confess us, and others who we exclude because of our wilful ignorance. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). We do not disassociate from other churches that profess Jesus Christ but may have different doctrinal beliefs or cultural ways of worshiping the Lord.

We believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman and that intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union.

We believe all human life is uniquely created sacred by God in His image and likeness. We are, therefore, called to advocate, defend, and protect all human life.

We believe in the literal second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, the establishment of his rule upon the earth, the resurrection of the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to eternal damnation, and the ultimate victory of the eternal Kingdom of God.(Acts 1:9-11, Daniel 12:2, Revelation 22:1 -7)
